  • SCSEP Program

My name is Cindy Murker, an Employment Specialist for the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) for the state of Montana. Our main office is in Great Falls. We help with the individual needs of seniors who are low income and who want to get back into the workforce. They may have hardships, barriers and lengthy gaps of unemployment or have challenges that limit their earning power. Our program is a bridge for those who are fifty-five and over with some of the above barriers to employment. Easterseals-Goodwill provides a minimum wage payment for work-based training up to a maximum of 20-29 hours a week while they serve at a non-profit or government host agency, learning a new set of job skills. I have enclosed a flyer for anyone you may know who might benefit from our program.

Our individualized community work-based training is specifically aimed at the employment goals of seniors. Some host agencies are Job Services, The Humane Society, United Way, Museums, Goodwill Industries, Senior Centers, and Food Banks to name just a few. Many of us are living longer, fuller lives and with the cost of living increasing, the SCSEP could dramatically increase the income of someone you may know and love.

If you know someone, or are willing to help someone, who is fifty-five and older, in need of income, and willing to work up to a maximum of 29 hours a week please pass on the program information.  You can share my phone number and address with potential participants as well. I am looking forward to talking with you and hopefully we can work together to help seniors get back into earning the income they need and deserve. We want them to gain the honor and recognition they deserve as a senior in the workforce.
